What is Bloodfest 7s? 

Bloodfest 7s is a premier rugby sevens tournament hosted by the Austin Huns Rugby Football Club. Established in 1998, it has grown into one of the nation's largest summer rugby events, featuring divisions for men, women, high school, and middle school teams.

When and where is the tournament? 

June 19-20, 2026.

What time does my team play? 

The schedule will be released the Monday prior to the tournament. Plan on being the first to KO and the last to KO if you are making travel plans. 

Is there an entry fee for spectators? 

No, admission is free for all spectators.

Registration & Divisions

How do I register my team?

You can register your team by signing up at Bloodfest 7s Registration. Spots are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

What divisions are available?

The tournament offers the following divisions:

• Men’s: Premier, Open, Social, Super Social

• Women’s: Premier, Social

• High School Boys: Premier, Open

• High School Girls: All levels

• Middle School Boys: U14

What are the key differences between divisions?

• Premier/Open: Highly competitive and follows World Rugby 7s Laws

• Social: More relaxed and allows rolling substitutions and unlimited roster sizes

• Super Social: Emphasizes fun with unique rule variations like no kicking for points, special scoring rules, no break aways by skinny backs!

Are there specific rules for youth divisions?

Yes, high school and middle school divisions follow USA Rugby High School Competition Rules and Eligibility. Players must have been full-time students during the 2025–2026 school year.

Tournament Format & Rules

How many games is each team guaranteed?

All teams are guaranteed a minimum of 4 games.

What is the tournament format?

Teams participate in pool play, earning points as follows:

• Win: 3 points

• Draw: 2 points

• Loss: 1 point

• No-show: 0 points

Top teams advance to knockout rounds to compete for division championships.

Are there any unique rules in certain divisions?

Yes, the Super Social division features special rules, including

• No kicking for points

• Modified scoring (e.g., centering the ball between posts equals 7 points)

What are the roster and substitution rules?

• Premier/Open: 12-player roster with a 13th alternate; 5 substitutions per game.

• Social/Super Social: Unlimited roster sizes; rolling substitutions allowed at stoppages.

• High School: 12-player roster; 5 substitutions per game.

Do all players need to be registered with USA Rugby?

Yes, all players must be current members of USA Rugby. Temporary event memberships are available through Rugby Xplorer. If you need help, contact USA Rugby Membership at membership@usa.rugby.

What amenities are available at the venue?

• Natural grass and turf fields

• Multiple restroom facilities

• Festival grounds with vendors and concessions

• Free parking with easy access to field

• Grass areas for staging tents and warm-up

• Playgrounds for children

• Covered seating on championship field

• Adult beverage tent

What are the facility rules?

• No outside alcohol (cooler checks at entry)

• Tents allowed only in designated areas

• No warming up on fields without explicit permission from tournament staff (please use common areas for warming up)

• No pets (except service animals)

• No grills, generators, or drones

• No smoking or tobacco products

• No metal cleats

• No golf carts or motorized transport within the tournament area

Is there parking available?

Yes, ample parking is available at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.

Can we set up tents and/or find shade?

Yes- there are two main areas to set up temporary pop tents viewable on the Venue & Travel page. There are also multiple share structures and tree groupings in the facility for teams traveling without tents. Our best advice is to come Friday, even if you are not a youth or high school team playing on Friday, to set up your tent area. That way you don't need to worry about it Saturday morning. 

Is there drinking water available?

Each field will have ice water jugs to refill your reusable water bottles. These are maintained by facility staff. Please refrain from bringing large packs of disposable water bottles as these only contribute to waste.

Can the tournament be canceled due to weather?

We are at the mercy of facility policies, which you can view here. https://roundrockmpc.com/policies/

While full cancelation is possible, it would only be applied if there were an eminent threat such as tornado or flood, which is highly unlikely in the area the facility is. For lightning delays, staff adhere to the 30 minute/ 10 mile policy.

Tons of hotels, RV parks, and short term rentals are available near the park. 

Are photographers allowed?

Yes! Feel free to come and shoot your team. No Special registration, vests, or other credentials are needed for accessing fields.
